“She explained the difference between what the officer wrote and what the video showed. That was the whole case.”

Delphine Corbin
Criminal defense lawyer
I defend people accused of crimes in Richmond, and I work every case myself, from the first call to the last date in court.
Before I opened this office I worked as a public defender, carrying fifty and sixty cases at a time. I learned how much a case can change when someone has the time to watch the whole video and walk the block where it happened.
Corbin Law is built around that time. I take fewer cases than a large firm would, and I read every page of each one. When you call, you reach me, and when something changes in your case, you hear it from me the same week.
I grew up in Church Hill, and I still walk to the courthouse when the weather allows.

Why defense
Most of the people I represent have never been in a courtroom. They're scared, and they've been told by the paperwork that they did something. The paperwork is one side of the story.
My job is to find the other side and make sure the court hears it. Sometimes that means a trial. More often it means showing the prosecutor something in their own file that they missed.
I'll tell you what I think will happen, including the parts you won't like. You make the decisions; I make sure you make them knowing everything I know.
From people I've represented
“My daughter was nineteen and terrified. Delphine talked to her like an adult and to me like a parent.”
Each client's case is different. These comments don't promise a similar result in yours.
